"Hi! I'm Dave Zarco with USA Badminton and I'm here at Don Shula's Athletic Club in Miami Lakes, Florida. In this segment, I'm going to show you how to play badminton doubles. Okay, guys? Let's go. Now, doubles, there's a little bit of team work that's required and usually when they are playing, the server stands up front, his partner stands in the back. Same goes with the receiver. The receiver is up front, the partner is in the back. Now, usually somebody hits up when the shuttle's hit up, the best thing to do is to hit down so anytime you hit up that's a defensive shot, so when you hit up prepare for it to be coming down. Same way with the other side, when you hit when it's hit up to you, try and hit down because that's the object of the game, you want to win and you don't win by hitting it high and deep all the time, you win by hitting it down and having it hit the floor and forcing them to make a weak return and in badminton a good offense beats a good defense. So, they always serve short or most of the time they serve short and when you are playing doubles, if you hit a defensive shot which means you are lifting it up, you go to a side side coverage. You take one side, your partner takes the other side. When the shuttle is hit up you go to into an offensive position which means front and back, when it goes to the back person, you, if you're not the one who's going to hit it, you immediately come up to the T and you cover the short shot because your partner should be hitting down and that's how you play badminton doubles. Once again, this is Dave Zarco with USA Badminton, thanks for watching."
