"Hi my name is Chris Dupre I'm your electric guitar expert. In this segment we are going to be talking about how to buy a beginner's guitar. There's three things to keep in mind when you are buying a beginner's guitar. It's comfort, playability, and of course price. Now a common misconception is that parents or beginners will believe that an acoustic guitar is probably the best way to start out. Not always the case. By all means if you are in to an acoustic guitar music, go ahead and start with something like that. But typically an acoustic guitar has much thicker strings and the action or playability, the strings are further up the fret board which can make it very difficult to play and thus very discouraging as well. Now as far as the playability of it, you want to make sure that the strings aren't too far, that can be adjusted but when you are shopping for a new guitar you want to make sure that the strings aren't too far off the fret board. And it's not too hard for you to push down. Also the comfort of it all. How does it sit in your lap, how does it feel in your arms. The sound of course, you know if you are buying an electric guitar there is different pickup configuration that you want to check out. So make sure you try out as many as you can to see how it sounds. See if it's more toward what you are looking for. And of course price, you can get a wide array of guitars for between one and two hundred dollars. And there's package prices as well. There's package just you can get so look into those. But yeah I would say comfort, playability and price. You don't want to spend too much."
