"Hi my name is Chris Dupre and I am an electric guitar instructor and in this segment we are going to be talking about different types of guitar bodies. There is lots of different shapes of a guitar and a lot of people might think that the shape of the guitar has something to do with the overall sound and that is not really the case. In some cases it can be but for the most part no, some of your standard shapes are like a strat shaped guitar like this guitar I am holding here. That's what you will call a strat shape and by that I mean molded after a Fender caster type shape, Les Paul style which has a much wider back end and I personally couldn't sit down with one of those but they are a very popular guitar. I also have an Iceman here which was made popular by the band Kiss in the mid to late 70's. There is an Explorer type guitar. There is a Mustang type guitar. There is a Thunderbird type guitar. The only difference that it would have in the sound is that the larger guitars tend to be heavier which can add for more sustain in the overall sound but that's pretty much it. That's a little about guitar bodies right here."
