"Hi my name is Chris Dupre and I'm an electric guitar instructor. In this segment we are going to be talking about how to make your guitar scream. There are two different ways that you can go about that. With a little gain and what is called harmonics. The first technique I'm going to show you is what is called pinch harmonics or artificial harmonics. With a little gain you can make it scream going kind of like this and what's happening there is my pick is striking the string and it is snapping it back so that my thumb kind of catches it and what is going on is normally when you pick a note the string vibrates back and forth and with your thumb kind of grazing it like it does for that technique it interrupts that creating the high pitched kind of squeal, o'kay? Now I have always found it most effective on the G string. The other way is using natural harmonics and what I am going to do for this is I am going to snap the G string doing a pull off and a tremolo bar diving it down and then lightly touching the string right above somewhere on the third fret to get a really high pitch. Of course I am going to need some gain for that as well. O'kay and that is a couple of tips on how to make a guitar scream."
