"Hi, I'm Sally Watkins, with Century Travel. We're going to talk about some choices for luggage. When you're traveling abroad you want light and you want to do the thing that you read about, of go, walk around the block with it and then come back and take some things out and make it lighter yet. You want expandable which means pretty much soft sided, and you want wheels with it. You want it to have pockets, divisions of some sort. If you travel with a computer, I have found it very useful to find a carry-on that has a separate pocket for a computer so you can pull that out very easily without having to rummage through everything else. You want to be sure you have reinforced handles and good seams on the luggage because they do get very hard wear from the airline. And maybe, just not related to the luggage, but if you have ones that the zippers pull together take some wire ties or even little handy ties like you get on a loaf of bread, because you can tie those together. It won't deter theft, but it would slow somebody down. In your hand luggage, be sure to go with the rule that you can now only have three ounces of any liquid that you are taking through security to get on the plane, and it has to all fit, however many three ounce bottles you have have to fit in one quart size Ziploc type bag."
