"Hi! I'm Joe Harpole. I handle hardwood for floor care here in Nashville. Today, I'm going to talk about vacuuming your hardwood floor. The finish on your hardwood floor can scratch, it's very durable but one of the worst problems that your hardwood floor has for the finish is dust. You want to keep dust off the floor as much as possible. When you see it, one of the easiest things to do is vacuum. Broom's always great but nothing, there's nothing quite like a vacuum to get up a lot of dirt quick. I use a vacuum on my hardwood floor at home and I encourage everybody to do that often. The simple way to use a vacuum is very simply go with the grain of the wood. It's always better to go with the grain of the wood when you're doing anything on a hardwood floor whether it's a dust mop or a vacuum. Vacuums like this have plastic wheels, they're gentle on the floor, they're not going to hurt the floor as long as you treat it like you normally would. I've simply go with the grain of the wood, not against it. It should serve you well."
