"Hi I'm Angela, I swim for Eagle Aquatic Team in Salt Lake City, Utah. I remember when I took swim lessons there were a few activities that I loved to do. When you are starting with little kids do activities that get them comfortable with the water, and start the basics down. You can use kick boards to help them work on their breathing, and their kick, and their stroke while they are learning the basic movements. As they get more and more advanced you are going to have them do different activities to practice their swimming. You can have them swim out a certain distance and swim back, you have can have them do races. I loved to race when I was in swim lessons. For swim lessons always try to keep it fun swimmers will like it better, and they will enjoy swim lessons. Keep games, have them participate in games or races or you can have them do fun things like jump in and swim to you. In swim lessons it is also great to play games for good activity to practice your swimming. Like sharks and minnows, or you can swim across the pool or just races. Relay races are really fun, and even jumping off the diving board at the end of practice is always really fun."
