Summary: A high-speed polisher should only be used on a car by someone who is qualified to use the equipment, because mistakes can lead to scratches. Find out how a high-speed polisher is applied to a car with help from the owner of a car detailing business in this free video on auto detailing and polishing.
"Hi, I'm Tim with Premier Detail and I'm going to show you how to high speed polish a car. First we want to start with putting a little bit of fine abrasiveness on your high speed polisher, but it's real important that you take it to someone who's qualified, who knows what they're doing, because if not you could end up with swirl marks, for one, and two, they can end up with scratching, you know, you scratch more and it won't be salvageable. You just want to start by spreading it out a little bit, probably about a medium setting, somewhere between 2500 to 3000 RPMs usually works fine. And you just want to go, you know, side to side, any, any direction kind of works. You just always want to make sure that you end with the wind going, with the same direction of the wind flow, which would be the same direction as the wind would be going if the car was driving. So the wind would be coming up this way. So you'd want to make sure you finished off by going with the wind. And you can just repeat that process over and over until the scratch has removed itself or until you've gotten the polishing you desire."
