"Hi this is Zephyr Clarke-Dalberg with Miami Dog Training in Miami, Florida. When we are talking about training two puppies at the same time what you really want is two handlers or two trainers. This way the dogs get that undivided attention, and you start to build a relationship together yet, together as a team yet on a one on one training kind of basis. If you were going to train two puppies at the same time one idea might be to let the puppy watch one puppy while the training goes on, and then switch off. Because dogs really learn from watching each other, and following each others behavior so it's a faster way for them to learn if they can see each other during the training. Sometimes it can be a distraction in which case you will want to then put one puppy away, and just work with the one. Or one at a time. But with that training you are going to want to first start off with the leash training, which is getting the dog to walk properly on the leash. And that's walking behind you or beside you. Preferably behind you, because again with the dog world there is a leader and a follower position. And it doesn't matter what the rank is it still follows that right down the line with leader, follower, leader follower. And you really want to start the training with the puppies as soon as they do come into your home this way you really set the tone for the rest of their life. With two puppies it is a little bit more of a challenge than it is with one, but sometimes they can learn from each other, and help each other to learn. And they also when they do start the training start them with crate training, start them with basic structure. It is something that they already inherently understand."
