"Hi, I'm Dr. Grace Wang, I'm a medical oncologist working at Advanced Medical Specialties in Miami, Florida. I'm here on the behalf of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. I'd like to talk to you about the different types of breast cancer. Breast cancer is not just one type. Basically you can have breast cancer that is estrogen receptor positive or progesterone receptor positive meaning that there's a good chance that they would respond to treatment that would counteract the estrogen stimulatory effect of the breast cancer. There also are breast cancers that are HER2 positive which is 20 to 25% of the time which means that it's an oncogene and sometimes herceptin will benefit that patient and reducing the risk of relapse of their breast cancer. There also are different types such as under the microscope you can see an infiltrating breast cancer or a lobular breast cancer and it's just good to know because there's a higher risk of a multi-focal disease or in the other breast if it's a lobular cancer."
