"Hello, my name is Adonis Valvis, I'm the owner and coach of Good Times Gymnastics located in Flushing, New York. In this clip we'll talk about stretching in gymnastics. Stretching is a very important issue, stretching will make your body flexible, will warm up your muscles and you're ready to start going into the deeper and deeper exercises. You want to work on your hips, you want to work on your hamstrings, you do your pikes, like you see. Then we have, alright, then we have, the next, the next stretching will be, you want to do the Back Bridge. Which stretches your back as you go on flip, doing backwards. So girls, let me see if you can do a Back Bridge. Ready and up, a very important exercise, body has to be straight, shoulders have to be evenly with your shoulders, your arms, legs together. As you can see, you know, bodies are very good. And also we have, that was a Back Bridge. Show me some straddles, kick over, beautiful. And let's do some straddles, you want to make sure all the joints in the body are nice and warm and flexible. So you can start moving, doing your gymnastics, excellent, very good. Stretching, very important, like any other sport, before you do anything, you really have to stretch really good. You've got make sure your body is warmed up, all of your muscles are nice and lose. Over stretching is another very issue in gymnastics, in stretching. You can pull the muscles, you really don't want to over extend yourself by pulling the muscles, because that would affect, you know, your gymnastics as you go down the line. Once again, this is Adonis Valvis, thank you for watching."
