"Hello! My name is Adonis Valvis. I'm the owner and coach of Good Times Gymnastics located in Flushing, New York. Let's talk a little bit about gymnastics routines on parallel bars. The parallel bar is a very powerful piece of equipment. It requires upper body strength, a lot of swinging, body control and the, and of course, discipline. Routines happening, they have many many difficulties as the levels go to, as you go to higher levels. We'll start with level 6 that requires maybe some swings, maybe a handstand, L shaped, you gotta have strong abdominal and as the routines go higher and higher it requires more difficult skills that you really have to work it out before you go into your routine. Parallel bars routines, children could start at the age of 3 years old. It's not as for their, punish your body, it doesn't really make you, some people think that gymnastics will make you sore but this is a sport that really get you going. You can start at 3 years old learning the basic routine, the basic skills which is swinging on the bars, doing straddles over the bars, learn how to do an L shape, learn how to do pikes, learn how to do straddles over the bars. Safety is very important thing on P bars. All the P bars equipment all around it has to be placed with mats to protect the gymnast from falling down, you know, on the hard surface of the, of the P bars equipment."
