Summary: Fixing cracks in a snowboard can only be done in a professional shop, where special screws and epoxy are applied to reinforce the cracked area. Find out what type of damage warrants a professional fix with information from a ski and snowboard repairman in this free video on fixing sports equipment.
"Hi, I'm Michael with Sid Sports. We're located on thirty nine hundred south and two sixty five east. I'm here to talk to you today about cracks in a snowboard. This snowboard is actually just finished. This is a customer's board. So I have a ski right here and they're the same way to fix it. What a crack would be is something went over a big rock where the edge cracks or it just deland really bad or part of it's missing, just like that right there. What we do to fix it is first we'd, it's going to be a shop only fix, what we would do to fix it is we'd actually cut away part of the base just with a razor. We have material right here to replace it with. We'd get in there and for something like this we'd have to use screws in the actual ski. We have another place where we fixed it, this is just a demo ski. We fixed it right there. If you can see, there's an actual whole new edge we put in there. Then we'll screw it in, we'll epoxy it in and it's going to take a couple of days for a fiz like this. It ends up working really well. If you're a skier and we do fix it, make sure you keep it on your outside edge and it'll protect the life. It's going to hold up strong but another rock to it will probably, you know knock it back out. It's not going to be as strong as it once was."
