"Hello I'm Dr. Loretta Ciraldo, a board-certified dermatologist and author of the book, Six Weeks to Sensational Skin. In this clip I'm going to tell you how to reduce the risk of skin cancer. As a board-certified dermatologist there is one thing and one thing only that I want you to remember to really reduce your risk of skin cancer, and it's getting yourself a bottle of the sun screen that you like to use. And let me show you what I mean. I am now in my 50's and I am very happy about the look of my hands. That's because I don't go out of house without putting sunscreen on my hands each and every day of the year. Now that's going to keep my hands from getting sun damage and age spots. Which really have nothing to do with age. They have to do with the sun. But it's also known for sure that daily use of a sunscreen actually will decrease your risk of skin cancer. When you use it what you want to be sure is that you put on enough of it. We dermatologists know that often times the reason why patients come in with some skin cancers is because they'll say "oh boy, you know what? I've got this and wow this developed on my hand and I've got to tell you I always put sunscreen on but some how I don't like to put it on my hands." So what we want you to do is we want you to find a sunscreen that you feel great about. Now remember your sunscreen doesn't have to be this particular one but what it does have to be is it has to be one that you like. Whether it's that you like the smell of it, the way it goes on, the way it makes your skin look afterwards. Even if it's necessary for you to go to the drugstore and buy a few different brands and experiment with which one you'll be willing to use every day. Because that is how you can reduce the risk of you getting skin cancer. This is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo."
