"I'm Jerimiah Fox. I'm a carpenter and handyman out here in New York City. About slat wall shelves, slat walls are the, basically the walls you see in department stores with all the little lines in them that have all the hooks and things hanging from them. It's very useful for shelving, very useful for tool storage, it's an option as opposed to peg board back here, for hanging up all your tools, because you can fit lots of hooks and things in it. So, for your own house, it you're going to remodel something, and you want a shelving system that's maybe a little bit easier than beg board back here for tools, or for something in a basement room, or something where you will need a bunch of shelves for shoes, or something like a closet, you can use your slat wall shelves. If you're remodeling your house, and you have a need for lots of hooks, or lots of shelving options, or modular shelving, like a closet, slat wall's a very handy thing to have because it's basically just a whole long line of slats that you can fill in and put anything on any levels that you need. It's paintable, it come in various sizes, you can trim it real easy with saws. To install it, all you really need is hammer and nails, or a screw gun. Just cut it to the dimensions you need, pop it in to place, and then you can hand tools from it, you can put a whole long line of shelves for books, for shoes. You can fit little hooks and runners in there and put your shelves all over the place, hanging things any where from clothes to, you know, heavy duty shelving for stereos and speakers, and everything like that. It's very good for basements, because it gives you modular abilities for your remodeling and house stuff."
