"Hi! I'm Rick Tobey and I'm going to talk about playing a Dobro guitar. Now, a Dobro guitar refers to an acoustic guitar that has a solid metal body. Now, the solid metal body gives it a very unique sound and character. Now as you can see I'm playing it with a brass slide that I slide on the strings. The Dobro guitar is almost always played with a slide but it can also be played without the slide. If you want to play chords, generally speaking, it is tuned to an open chord so you can play chords with a slide. But of course you can also tune it to a standard tuning and play it with your fingers. This guitar is tuned to an open G and so I can play some chords, and I can also play with the slide, and that's how you play the Dobro."
