Video Transcript

"For teachers that want to go abroad to work, there are many different kinds of opportunities, and it's interesting to find out the fact that you have ways of exchanging with other countries or with getting hired by a company or the government to do some teaching, and the variety of what you teach is very large. You need to find out about the certifications that you need in order to apply. Often you need a TEFL certificate, and you need to find out about that after having your certification for teaching here in the United States. I think teachers, as they go overseas and do these things, they need to realize too that there are certain conditions they need to look at as they go into other countries and understand their habits and their traditions, because often times we can put ourselves in an unsafe situation or an embarrassing situation in going into another country and not realizing what some of their background things are as far as how they teach things and what teachers are expected, and how you behave in that country."
