Video Transcript

"MLA style citations are very specific. Oftentimes, your instructor will give you what they want you to put down. But for instance, if you're going to do a report on the learning styles and say, reading and writing. George Dawson has written a book, Life Is So Good, that would be a good one to refer to. And when you do that, you get the information and you put it in a particular order. Once, you've looked at the information in the book that you're going to refer to, you need to have the author's name and you write the last name first, comma, and their first name and if there's more than one person, you're going to put their name, too, and you go on from there and put the title and place of publication, which in this case is New York, the publishing company, the date and the page numbers. The punctuation is very specific and it's different for books than for articles from magazines or Internet usage so you may want to look at those each one is a specific difference."
