"This is Financial Advisor Patrick Munro talking about what does it take to become a stock broker. An individual who desires to be a stock broker should really look in the mirror and and decide, "Are they right for this position?" Because when you are a stock broker, you're literally helping someone with their financial future which could make a huge difference to not only them; but their family and their responsibility of that is a must. The individual needs to be ethical in nature. They need to be good with numbers as well because the world of stock brokers is all about the numbers on these indexes, mutual funds and various things to that nature. Also, they need to be a people person. They need to be empathetic and have an ability to listen because they're clients will come in and consultatively talk to them about their needs; so it's really a full suite of services that an individual needs to have to become a stock broker. They also have to be fairly intelligent because there's a lot of governmental tests that they need to take to get their required licenses to practice in this profession.
