"Hi, it's Rokosz, your digital lifestyle expert here, answering the question, when was the first iPod introduced. Ah, I remember it like it was yesterday. A beautiful fall evening of October, 23rd, 2001. And the world of mobile music has never been the same since. Now we're into our sixth generation like this guy right here, and boy are things getting better. Back in the day, if you can remember way back when to ancient times of 2001 when they didn't even have video on them. Oh, jeez, and the wheel itself moved around, like it was made out of stone. It was available in five and ten gig, and like I say, the world--it was not the first portable music player, but definitely the best. Other MP3 players at this time had very difficult user interfaces, and this really was the opening salvo for Apple Corporation, and Mac in particular, to really regain its foothold. Over the last decade or more, things have really come up and changed since then, and it really was their foothold into the consumer market, for then PCs were dominating, and Apple was, "oh, I remember that computer from junior high school, I think." Well, once almost every American got one of these in their hand--that wanted one and could afford one, that is, the world has changed, and it really softened things up. It made everything easier for people to move into what we now call iLife. Well, hope that was informative. Enjoy it, and be glad that we're in the new millennium and you can enjoy your iPod. Rokosz, your digital lifestyle expert here, saying stream you later."
