"Hi, my name is Dave Casuto and I am the director of San Francisco Computer Tutors here in San Francisco, California. Alright, in this tutorial we are going to show you how to make ringtones for your phone using iTunes. OK, so the first thing I should tell you that iTunes requires that the song that you make ringtones from should be bought from iTunes. OK so it actually should be something that you've gotten from them or else they will not let you do it. So first thing we want to do is actually pick a song and I've got this song here called Demonize by The Answer. So I purchased this from iTunes. So what I'm going to do simply is right click on it and then you're going to see here we get a bunch of different things here but iTunes makes it nice and easy for us and the fifth one down is the choice that says create ringtone. So it pops up here down at the bottom you're going to see after it processes, you're going to see the song and all the sound waves and everything like that and they're going to ask us basically what part of the song do you want to make a ringtone? OK do you want just the first five seconds, do you want another part of the song to be it, how long do you want it to be, etcetera. So let's wait for it to process and then you'll see what I mean in just a second. OK so there here we are. So it gives us by default the first 15 seconds and it starts off with a fade in which is really nice, we can uncheck that if we don't want that and we can also do the fade out or uncheck that if we don't want to. Now I just want the first 10 seconds so all I need to do is come to the end of this blue mark, click and then just drag it in and it tells me exactly how long it's going to be right down below here, it's 9.9 seconds and I can also preview it. Alright and a ring to make your mother very happy there. OK so then you also have your looping options where you can make it a half a second, one second, two seconds, that's going to be in between each quote unquote ring and how much time do you want there to be a gap. Alright and then when you're done, you come over here and click buy and notice down beneath here it says price .99 cents alright so I'm just going to go ahead and click buy, might as well just buy this one in case I'm going to see my mom anytime soon. Click buy says you're about to buy a ringtone without listening to the edited audio, are you sure you want to buy this ringtone? OK I'm going to say buy and I have an iPhone so when I click when I connect my iPhone with this, in the ringtones panel here it's going to be I'm synced up with that and then I'll have that as an option for myself. OK and then here we go and there it is under ringtones, OK, I've got it. So I'm all set to go and then when I sync up my iPhone, I am ready to rock and roll. Alright, well I hope you had as much fun as I did. Feel free to contact me anytime at dave@deyec, that's D E Y E C.com and you can check me out on the web also at deyec.com. Thanks and have a great day."
