"Hi, Dale Mastry with Mastry's Bait and Tackle in St. Pete, been doing this for about 30 years and we're just going to show you one of many techniques for sharpening a knife. This knife is fairly dull here, won't cut paper. And I'm going to use this tool called an Accusharp. It's got a couple of high carbon blades in it, set it about a 15 degree angle. Place the knife on the edge of the table. Put the blade of the knife right in the V of the tool and just press down gently with our thumb and follow the edge of the blade right off the end of the table. And depending on how dull your knife is, will depend on how many times you need to do this but you can feel and you see the filings coming off this knife and you just have to kind of visually inspect it. Once you do that you can see now that our knife is starting to get it's edge and I'm Dale Mastry at Mastry's Tackle and that's just one of many methods to sharpen a knife."
