"Hi, I'm Kelli, I'm an aesthetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics and I'm going to give you some tips on how you can improve your complexion and remove some freckles. You can't actually remove freckles once they're there but you can help to lighten them and make them less obvious. First thing you want to do to get a good complexion is make sure you're on a really good skincare routine. Cleansing is probably the most important thing that you can do, especially at night if you wear makeup, you want to make sure that you're removing all of your makeup, a lot of dirt and debris and oil which can clog your pores and lead to breakout. Also as soon as you walk outside, you have a lot of toxins that are sitting on the skin from pollution, environmental aggressors, things of that nature, which can attack your healthy skin cells and lead to premature aging. So you want to make sure you're washing all of those off before you go to bed, another thing that you want to do is make sure you're using a really good moisturizer, your moisturizer basically helps to keep your moisture barrier intact, your moisture barrier basically is your first line of defense against keeping your collagen and your elastin intact, basically if you think of it as a house, your moisture barrier is the roof of your house and your collagen and elastin are the floors underneath, so you don't want to get holes in your roof, which will cause your floors to collapse underneath, that's what leads to premature aging. Other things you can do, if you suffer from a lot of freckling or hyper-pigmentation, you can use a lightening gel, either one with hydroquinone which is a skin bleaching agent or one that's hydroquinone free which has natural ingredients is such as azelaic acid or licorice root, and those will help to break up hyper-pigmented areas, such as freckling and make them appear lighter. So those are some tips that you can do for a healthy complexion and to help to lighten up freckles."
