"Hi I'm Kelli. I'm an aestetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics and I'm going to give you some tips on how you can use sunscreen correctly. First thing you want to do is choose whether you want to do a physical or a chemical sunblock. A physical sunblock is a titanium dioxide or a zinc oxide sunblock. A chemical sunblock is one with avobenzone or parasol seventeen eighty nine. The main difference is a physical sunblock will reflect the raise, a chemical sunblock will absorb the raise. So choose which ever one is going to work best for your skin, if you tend to be a little more sensitive, a physical sunblock will probably work better than a chemical. Also if you like a lighter feel, you might prefer a chemical sunblock. So after you choose the proper SPF, you want to make sure that you're choosing the right SPF factor. A 15 is alright if you're going to just be walking from your car to work, or from your car to the house. That's enough to protect you from incidental sun. Sun that you might be exposed to just walking to and from your vehicle. If you're going to be out in the sun for an extended period of time, you definitely want to make sure that you're using a higher SPF. Thirty is the minimum, I usually recommend something a little bit higher than that. When you're applying your sunscreen, you want to make sure to the face, you want to make sure that you're using about a quarter size. Many people don't use enough sunscreen. That's enough for one application for your whole face. What you want to do to determine how often you need to reapply if you're going to be in the sun for a long period of time, is you want to take how long it would take you to burn if you just went out into the sun without any protection, and times it by the SPF factor. So for example if you know you're out in the sun for ten minutes and that's how long it takes you before you start to see some color on your skin, and you're wearing an SPF 15, you have about 150 minutes before you need to reapply. So those are some tips on how you can properly use sunscreen."
