"Hi, in this lesson we'll learn a classic metal lick in the key of A minor. It's in the seventh position and uses the A minor scale, starting on B. Notice how my right hand meets the strings throughout most of the lick. I'll play the lick twice for you. Let's listen at full tempo, three, four. Okay, let's break this one down. This lick uses the A natural minor scale in the seventh position. It's a four note repeating pattern that always begins with the second note you previously played. Let me show you what I mean. The scale you're going to use is as follows. So, you take the first four notes. Second note you played was right here so keep going up the scale starting on that note. In other words, second note you played again was, and so on and so forth. Notice how I changed my fingering there. Instead of going one, three, four; first finger, third finger, fourth finger I switch to first finger, second finger, third finger. Reason why is cause I'm jumping to the second string now; my first finger on the eighth fret. Let me play the whole lick for you, this time with a half speed backing track, three, four."
