"Hi my name is Lawal McCray Sr. I'm the head football coach at Blanche Ely High School. We're located in Pompano Beach, FL. How to get a job in the NFL. One thing you have to realize there are 100's of different jobs available in the NFL. There's more than just coaching. You have the equipment managers, you have the physical therapists, you have the trainers, you have so many areas that people don't even think about but if you're interested in getting a job in the NFL, one thing you can do is go into individual site of NFL team. For example, I live in sunny south Florida. If I didn't want to move from here, I will go to the Miami Dolphins website and look under employment opportunities and see if there's something that's there that I'm required to do and if so, apply for it. If I'm willing to move to increase my chances of an opportunity of working with an NFL team, you can go to NFL website and look under NFL opportunities and see what jobs are available and see if you meet those requirements and apply for those jobs. Now a third way is if you know someone that works with a team, see if you can make contact with that person, see if they know an inside connection that you have or there's a way you can volunteer and help out. By volunteering and getting yourself in the door, making connections, networking so when an opportunity arises you may be considered for that position. Starting off with an NFL job you probably start off at an entry level which of course means a lower paying salary. But the thing is if you stay with it, the more experience you'll get, the greater chance you'll have of getting a better paying job. If you are going through the coaching aspect, typically you have to go through the collegiate ranks first and once you're in the college ranks volunteer the summer camps and training camps to get the notice of professional coaches. And that's a first step as a coach you can take with eventually obtaining an NFL coaching position."
