"Hi! My name is Lawal McCray, Sr. I'm the head football coach at Blanche Ely High School. We're located in Pompano Beach, Florida. In this clip, I want to give some football coaching tips. We're going to talk about player's blocking, alright? First of all, we'll talk about stance in our first steps. Today, the world of football, everybody's going to spread passing game. So, the most important thing in another quarter by the receiver is to almost align especially our tackles. Now, I'm going to talk about playing the left tackle position, the stance and our first steps. In left tackle, one, you will be in the semi-balance stance, feet apart, have here a total relationship and very important you have good flexibility, your ankles, your knees and your hips. In this position here, you want to always keep your chest over your knees at all times. If you're over here, too far extended, you're allowed to fall forward or too far back, you're allowed to run back and allow the players come in front of you. In your stance, when the ball is snapped, your first step, you want to push back and then kick back as far as possible. You do that as quick as possible, it gives you a chance to watch the defensive line and what they're trying to do to you. There's two different techniques we want to use. As you're going back, if you have a tight shape technique on your shoulder here. The quarterback will see you in sight, you'll make sure you came straight back and get back, get back. As you do that, you're watching is that what the defensive lineman is doing. You want to keep your shoulder paired at the line of scrimmage and don't turn too quick. If you turn too quick, you got the defensive lineman inside track to you. So, you want to keep back, straight back and force him outside. The second technique is, when you're here and at that line over the wideout technique, you want to expand the pocket. How you do that? When you kick back now, you kicking back at an angle, at an angle, you just comin' back, you increasin' the pocket and give your quarterback more room to play. Mostly, the most important part of this is pass blocking. These two tips here, the initial start for offensive linemen is it help to teach you, to teach you skills of giving back and protect your quarterback. Without that protection, without the offensive line, you cannot and will not be successful. Once again, I'm coach McCray and thanks for watching."
