How to Paint Plaster Walls

"We're going to talk a little bit about painting on plaster. Painting on plaster walls most likely, in this era, have already been painted, so you would just simply do any repair work, do some priming, and paint over the existing plaster again. If you do have fresh plaster, you actually are hiring somebody to apply plaster to your walls in this century, it's a very... it's a much more labor-intensive process than hanging drywall, but it's a much harder surface. It's also porous, so you could have options of staining it rather than painting it, because it would absorb in a more liquid fashion, glazing it. You could put a layer of Venetian Plaster over plaster, and have a Venetian Plaster plaster wall. Other than that, just paint it, just like you would any other walls. In the tropics, a lot of plaster walls are still be used over the cinder block, which is usually because of bugs, instead of using wood for framing the used block, and then the walls are parched with plaster, that would be in lime-based. Molds do not grow on lime-based products, that is why Venice still exists, and why all the work is still there, because it's all a lot of plaster work, a lot of lime-base, and that would be a reason probably not to paint it, just leave it."
