"What is the Americans With Disabilities Act? It is landmark civil rights legislation that opened up American society to Americans with disabilities. It is why that most new construction has to make sure that their buildings are accessible to people with disabilities or at least, if there are physical obstacles to doing that, to make other accommodations to make sure that people with disabilities have full aspects to society. The Americans With Disabilities Act also prevents job discrimination against people with disabilities as much as you cannot discriminate, you can't deny someone a job because of the color of their skin or because they are a woman. You can't deny people housing because of those reasons, no longer can you do the same with people with disabilities, so it's very much on par with the landmark civil rights legislation of 1964 for the disabled community."
