"Hi, this is Casey Atkinson with Willie Driving School here in Logan, Utah. Today I'm going to talk a little bit about winter driving. Obviously here in Utah we get a lot of bad snow storms and you have to know how to, how to drive in these snow storms. First things first, make sure your car is in good condition. You want your tires to have good tread and obviously you can't see as well, there's snow, there's fog; you need to slow down. Always slow down in the winter. Most accidents happen as soon as storms hit because the road gets, they get sleek, ice starts forming and that's when all the crashes happen. Now if you do hit some ice while driving, don't panic, don't slam on the brake; just turn the wheel gently and smoothly. So if let's say you're back into the car, start sliding to the right, you want to turn to the right. So you want to turn the steering wheel the way of the skid. That will fix the car, straighten it out and in no time, you'll be alright going down the road. Just make sure you don't make any quick movements or slam on your brake, that makes the skid a whole lot worse. Obviously in winter you have more animals going up to the mountains, watch out for those; they are on the roadways; look for their eyes going in the, on the side of the road."
