Coffee mugs have been around since the Stone Age. They were carved from bone at that time, and eventually the need for an insulated coffee mug came along. That didn't come until late 1800s. Del Mar developed the insulated coffee mug, and made it so that people could carry things from place to place, much like a Thermos, or something like that. People have now developed the coffee mug and refined the insulation part of it so that it's lighter, easier to carry, more secure, and almost indispensable for those people who are addicted to coffee and caffeine; they love having a mug that you can transport from one place to another. It makes a difference for backpackers because they are able now to keep liquids cold or hot because insulation can do both things. I think that the insulated coffee mug... we haven't seen the last of it, as far as what people can do with it.
