"Gutenberg in his printing press with movable part made a large difference. Of course the Chinese had printing presses before that time but it didn't have the impact that it did in Europe. The movable print made a great deal of difference as far as our communication skills, our ability to get volumes of information out to get information to more people and to have a time of being able to get things back and forth not only was the movable print important it was very much a part of our scientific evolution of what was going on back then. A whole group of scientists were able to use that invention and communicate all of the ideas that they had with each other even though they were far apart and the printing press has made a huge impact on the industrial revolution. It also was a precursor to our use of computers now and it has just made a big difference in how we can get information from one place to another and in a timely manner."
