"The refrigerator was actually invented in the early 1800's by Thomas Moore and as it became more and more demanded down through history to keep our food cold, to keep things from spoiling and as more of a convenience than anything else, it is amazing to see that in the early 1900's there is such a connection between inventions and that is that the General Motors Company was the company that came up with the compressor for the refrigerator and started the mass production of refrigerator units. That is kind of an interesting fact when you see that cars were just beginning to be popular at that time as well and had just been invented and so refrigeration has gone pretty much hand in hand and nowadays we depend on it for many many things."
