Video Transcript

"I think when people think about nuclear energy they immediately think of the atomic bomb, and they're very fearful. I think that people don't realize that the uranium was discovered in the late 1700's, and there has been much development since then of different things. And what finally happened in the mid 1900's was that we developed the atomic bomb, and it was used in 1945 in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which ended, for all practical purposes, World War II. Since then though, atomic energy has been turned toward technological things, and so, there is still a lot of developing information about that and it is something that whereas we are fearful, we are also very much interested in developing the technical side of that."
