"Hi this is Ashlee from Pet Planet in Riverton, Utah. I am here to let you know some ways that you can care for an orphaned rat. If you happen to come across an orphaned rat that's either been abandoned by the mom or the mom did not make it, one good way you can take care of that is you can get a heating pad. You want to make sure that you get really extra soft bedding as well as you can try even getting a Pedia Light or rehydrating water which will help rehydrate the little babies. As well as maybe like a puppy formula, Espelac puppy formula would help. And you can get like a syringe and maybe a ground scale that way you do not over feed him because it's very important not to overfeed them which it could cause, it could cause it just not to work out. Going back to the bedding the one thing that you can do is make sure that you use, if you don't have any money for bedding or anything, you can use like an old t-shirt, a towel, something that their fingernails won't get caught in. One thing you just want to make sure before you do let the rats go out on their own, is you want to make sure that they are fully eating and drinking on their own. As well as you, if you just want to add extra precautionary you can add like a vitamin C to their water and that will help them live a long healthy life. If you have any further questions about this you can contact us at petplanetriverton@gmail.com and we will be happy to answer any of your questions."
