"Let's talk about granite. The middle panel has been started out with some background noise I'll call it. We are working on stone around it so it has a stony effect which was mostly done with a sponge and a little bit of spattering. It just has a random color. I looked into this book of pictures, photographs of variations of granite which is a fairly boring stone. It is just spongy and splattery looking. Mostly it looks like a little bit of a white or a lighter color so I'm just going to dip into some white paint. My toothbrush is loaded and I am going to spatter while looking at the photograph. It's not everywhere, this is almost a black glaze over the surface and then I'm having my sponge hand for the places that blobbed, blotched instead of splattered to soften it. That's looking very much like granite already and spattering some more. That looks pretty, that looks pretty granity. I'm going to put a finish coat on the granite and at this point I would probably choose a higher gloss, water born varnish and hopefully that is what this is because it is all I happen to have on hand here. It also looks as if it has a bit of white in it which is fine. It will add another dimension to the granite but a little sheen at this point would be nice and that's what would make it more believable and also minimal brush strokes so either roll it on with a foam roller or something that, or soften your brush strokes with your brush. That would be that, finish coated. Now you are taking the tape off, the big unveil, the center panel is granite and as I remove these tape lines it is going to reveal that we have the grout that we made with our tape earlier."
