"You know, the question is about taming chinchillas, and chinchillas, when you buy them as pets, are usually a little shy. They're untrustworthy of everything because they're a type of rodent. They're very agile and species that jumps a lot, and so you have to have caging and housing requirements that meets that. So with chinchillas, when you're trying to tame them, you're basically trying to get them used to you. And a couple techniques that work pretty well is one, start doing this at night because they are a nocturnal species and they're more active at night. Number two is if you have a young chinchilla, that usually works a little bit better. If it's an adult and it's already established, it may be harder to tame them. Three is using a small treat such as a raisin. A raisin works pretty well. You can get them used to you by offering them raisins and getting them to adopt to your hand first and so you can pet them. And also, that eventually works into them being more trustworthy of you and allowing them to get more used to you. So taming them uses...you're going to use treats like raisins, you're going to spend time with them, slowly introduce them to your smells and try to do some things at night so they're more accustomed to that."
