"Skin cancer is a prominent medical problem for people living in the Southern hemisphere or Southern part of the United States or in equatorial regions where there is greater sunlight or at high altitudes where there is less atmosphere to filter out the sun's ultraviolet rays that cause changes to skin cells resulting in skin cancer. Early signs and symptoms of skin cancer would be non-healing sores, patches of waxy scaly lesions on the skin that can be red papules or nodules resembling pimples that never go away and tend to bleed a lot but don't have drainage. The melanoma type skin cancers which are by far the most serious kind are usually associated with moles. Your typical mole is about the size of a pencil eraser at its maximum size. It is uniform in color and has clear definite boundaries. If you have a mole that has irregular boundaries, is multi colored or changes in color even going pale to darker, bleeds, becomes ulcerated, doesn't heal, any of these things you will need to carry to a dermatologist as soon as possible to have evaluated. The other two types of skin cancer that are most common are squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma and these if caught early have easy cure rates or good cure rates by local treatment."
