"The very first thing you have to do are your venues, your wedding location and your reception site, and the season that you're picking that in, OK? March, April, May, June -- those are great months for azelias, and the flowers that bloom. July, August, September -- it's getting a little warm, but there are some late summer blooming flowers, OK? So pastels, great, summertime, springtime. When you get into your fall colors, rich, rich, your oranges, your golds, the royal colors. I like to call them royalty. But again, it's all about where you are and what we're going to need to do to make it all come together at that location. If you're going into historic downtown Wilmington, and you've got a lot of the old brick that exists, which is definitely beautiful, you need to take swatches to see what's going to blend in that room, because you might not be able to do pink, but you can bring pink in in some way, fashion or form. You may not want to do a pink linen, but you could do a white with an overlay, soften that, OK? It really just depends, and the setup of the room -- people are using round tables, square tables, rectangle tables now. It's really fabulous. If you're going a little Icabana with your florals or if you're doing seashells, really, you just have to sit down and brainstorm with someone that's been there and can lead you in the right direction."
