"Good afternoon my name is Tom Brintzenhofe, Certified Master Mechanic out of Reading, Pennsylvania and today I'm going to talk a little bit about does dual exhaust increase horse power and I will say definitely yes it will. When you have yourself a sports car, say a Mustang, Firebird, Camaro even some of the newer rice burners I call them little Mitsubishi Eclipse, Talons, the four cylinders they also do benefit from dual exhaust. They are a little bit rare to find but they are out there. The simplest ways that they do it is they decrease back pressure and that's your biggest adversary when you are talking performance. When you are talking a V8, V6 a race car, any of those types there you are going to want the decreased back pressure and it helps the engine breathe a little bit more. Some of the bigger engines that are built for performance some of your bigger sports cars most of them are made with dual exhausts for that particular reason, they can be upgraded into Blow Exhaust makes them, Flowmaster makes them but they'll increase your horsepower we'll say 20 to 25% and when you are looking for that kind of a gain 25% is a significant gain over a stock exhaust system but hopefully that answers your question that yes it does increase your horsepower using dual exhaust."
