"Hi friends I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida and being the father of five children that have a sand box I know you want to know how to keep ants out of your sand box. Number one you want to go ahead and make sure you get any organic debris out of the sand box. If you have got trees or grass growing in the sand box remove all that material because those are all nesting and harborage sites for ants. That's number one. Number two is making sure that you create a perimeter around the sand box that stops ants from coming and foraging in the sand box. Now you can do that a couple of different ways. You can use a granular product such as Wisdom EC over here or EZ, or Talstar which is another liquid bait that you can spray around the outside of the sand box to keep the ants from getting into the sand box. Remember even though the kids play in the grass that's o'kay but you don't want them to bring any other materials into the sand box that the ants might want to feed on, so if you can go ahead and keep the ants out by creating a barrier around that sand box that's always a good idea. Something else you might want to consider is hiring a professional pest control or lawn care company to come out and do regular routine applications especially around the sand box to keep the ants down in the yard. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida hoping you and your children have a pest free day."
