How to Get Custom-Made Sneakers

"So one of the best parts about working with clothes, is actually customizing your own pieces. Therefore, you kind of make your own style and give yourself a little identity. Then it goes back to that sort of bombshell on a budget thing, where it doesn't really take a lot of money to make something look cool. So I've got a pair of just regular old Converse High Tops. I've now, I've already customized them in a way but the thing that I love to do, is spray paint my shoes. These used to be just a regular cream pair of Converse High Tops. And what I took was, a can of silver paint, actually it needs to be redone a little bit. But as you can see here, there's you know, silver paint, I spray painted over the logos, you know. But it got that cool sort of, roughed up look. And just any old spray paint will do, you can turn them in, you can mix it up and whatever. There is one company, a store called Bess Clothing that's on Lafayette and Lafayette, just below Houston street, if you're in, ever in New York. They do a great Converse sneaker as well as leather that they custom. And they use these studs, which you can buy in St. Mark's, another New York destination for clothing, whatever the whole strip there. They put studs and what they'll do is, sort of, stud all you know, in different patterns maybe along the cuff of the topless shoe. Or along here or even you know, along there, that sort of thing. So it's just like any of these little things that you can do to your own sneakers, you're going to personalize it and make you stand out. Another good way to customize your shoes, is laces obviously. There are so many different kinds that you can get and you know, colors obviously with you know, spare amount of spray painting the laces or leather laces or, would be great. I've got these boots here, they're kind of a favorite of mine here. And just what I've done ages ago is, just kind of go over the trim with a nice little, white paint. And then sort of, you know, over at the back as well. So we're not dealing with a regular black combat boot anymore. Now we've got you know, this own little customized sort of thing. And you know, it's again, it's that thing that's going to make you stand out and make these pieces unique. And also that, you're not walking on the street with the same exact thing that the other guy is."
