"My name is Dr. Endre Sos and I will speak a few short words about how to take care of ferrets. This ferret is a little bit active and he doesn't like me using my hands but you can see that ferrets are carnivore animals and they have very sharp nails and strong teeth. Therefore, the food you offer for your ferrets is very crucial. It has to be very high in protein at least 34 to 38 per cent, low in fiber and also high in fat around 20 per cent. Always be sure that your ferret gets plenty of water all day and it needs also a lot f food which means the frequency of food which is available. Ferrets must be fed at least seven to ten times a day because their digestion is very very fast. This is very important otherwise high blood chemicals soon and this can be fatal to the animals. The other very important thing that if you want to go for a walk with your ferret please take a leash with them and be contacted by your veterinarian who is an expert with ferrets. Vaccinations are very important. You have to provide rabies and distemper vaccinations for the animal and also spaying or neutering is crucial especially for the females as the females are induced ovulators which means if they don't meet the male they can continue to ovulate and this can have fatal consequences."
