"Hi I'm Judy Carrier with Jewels by Park Lane. And I'm going to tell you how to restore shine to your jewelry. First of all preventive medicine is the best. Every time you wear a piece of jewelry, whether it's fashion jewelry or it's the real thing put it on last. It should be the last thing you put on before you go out the door. Because your body lotions, your body oils, hair sprays, perfumes all that sort of thing will leave a fine trace of residue on your jewelry and that can dull the finish. So if you put it on last you are not going to have to worry about that nearly as much. The other thing you want to do preventive is when you come home, you take that piece off and you take a little polishing cloth and just wipe it down. Just wipe off the body oils and the grime of the day. And that way your jewelry should stay looking like new for a long time without you having to do anything about it. Now if you do need to clean it because you haven't followed those procedures or it's just getting old, you might want to take some compressed air and just take a piece of jewelry shine it, blow some air on it and then very gently wipe it down. Another way would be the old toothbrush and toothpaste trick with just a little bit on it. Because you don't want to soak anything. Cause with this fashion jewelry it could loosen a stone. But just gently brush it, rinse it, pat it dry. That pretty much covers it. Preventive medicine is the best. Make sure your jewelry is lint free before you put it away. And store it in a cool dry place. Also if you are in a humid environment, put a piece of chalk in the draw with your jewelry of your jewelry box that absorbs a lot of the moisture which is partially responsible for tarnishing. Just a few hints on how to keep your jewelry looking nice and clean just like new. I'm Judy Carrier with Jewels by Park Lane. Thank you."
