"Hi my name is Shana Siegel here at Just Scenic creations in New York City. This segment demonstrates how to faux paint by dragging. This technique is subtractive so what you do is you start out with the glaze that you'd like to use, you have already based it the color you want to be behind your finish. And again I've used a similar color, same color family, just kind of a darker tone of the same color. And you kind of just brush it on and you use you know the same direction that you will be dragging your lines. It creates these lining, this kind of cool lining effect. So we got it nice and covered and this is actually a tool used on a lot for graining wood. And I've kind of you know, which chopped off a few of these so some of them have broken on their own but I like the effect when it's a little bit more random looking. See it's kind of nice and subtle and you just have to make sure that keep a steady hand and your strokes are continuously. See when you just do one pass how it's a very graphic line. I really like going back over and having it be more organic but so that it's not all the same. It is important to not break your flow in the middle though. This is Shana Siegal showing you how to faux finish using the dragging technique."
