"Hi, I'm Doc Lowry, and we're talking about how to prepare, as a client, to come in to get your tattoo. The first thing I think you'd want to do is to make sure that you visit the studio that you're wanting to get your tattoo at and get a feel for the energy of the studio, that you're going to be comfortable there. Also you want to be prepared that you clean up and wear clean clothing when you come in to see your artist and get your tattoo done. You also want to be sure that the clothing you wear for your tattoo is loose enough that it can be moved or easily removed, if necessary, to make room for your tattoo. Primarily we do custom work here, so the first appointment usually is a consultation appointment with the artist where you discuss your art and they make some notes and then they prepare to draw the art for you. But we also have traditional, standard art that the staff at the studio helps you to find. Before you come for your tattoo, you want to be sure that you have something to eat about an hour and a half to two hours before you come in, just a light meal so you have some sugar in your system to prevent passing out from some of the stress or anxiety of the service. You want to also be sure that you don't eat on your way in the door because those times the anxiety can make some people throw up. So about an hour and a half to two hours before you come in a light meal is recommended."
