Summary: After a tattoo artist has licensing and inspections from the city and health department, the artist should prepare the space so clients can come in and check things out comfortably. Run a tattoo parlor that creates a friendly environment with tips from an experienced tattoo artist in this free video on tattoo parlors.
"Hi, this is Doc Lowry. We're talking about running a tattoo studio, and the first thing after you have gotten all your licensing taken care of and you've had your inspections from the city and the health department, and such, uh, just to prepare your space so that your clients can come in and avail themselves of your services easily and it's easier for your artists to work, so we've set up a reception area here in the front, and then we have a receptionist...um, we don't have a receptionist, who greets people when they come into the studio, and it's really important to remember that when people are quite often really nervous when they come in for a tattoo so the greeting is pretty important and help them find the art that they want to look for and to help them select an artist. Help put them at ease a little bit. It's important to have a good staff up front to take care of that part. Also the staff at the front end of the studio takes care of answering the phone and setting appointments, and quite often running the sterilization equipment and so all these things have to be located in such a way that you can continue to do business during the day and be at your work area to take care of the clients."
