"Hello I'm Bruce Marshall, fashion designer and Emmy award nominated costume designer here to show you how to dress for a retro 70's party. Well basically there is three things to remember about the 70's, it was a very volumous decade, it was very colorful and basically it was a lot of fun so what you want to do is you always want to keep it either pastel in color and that is a really good example of it pastel and if not you have got to use a lot of prints or ruffles. So here we have two examples. And also you also need to know it's the 70's so the pants were flared and they were wide at the bottom and you have to be set up on a pair of stack shoes or else you are really not nailing it so basically that is what you want to keep in mind when you are doing the 70's, it was groovy, it was fun, it was colorful but more than anything it was very very comfortable even though the fabrics might have been polyester and stuff like that, not necessarily 100% natural but it was 100% fun. Another antidote on the 70's if you want to dress retro is you should also remember that you can really go for it with the jewelry, basically you can layer on the gold or the silver chains and give it that really super Italianish macho look or again you could either go with the puka shells or beads, either way when you accessorize for the 70s it should always be just groovy."
