"Did you know that adding a website icon can set you apart on a bookmark list. Hi I'm Dan Afonso of Afonso consulting and Enfold ID. Now I'm going to teach you how to do precisely that. Now the favored icon as it's called is simply a way of adding an icon to a bookmarks page. Internet Explorer started this and everyone else picked it up because it was a pretty good idea. So what you have is an icon with a given name that's on your web directory that when your page is bookmarked it will get looked at. The easiest way to get one is to either go online into some sort of converter and take one of your pictures that represents your site and have it converted into a sixteen by sixteen ico file. If that doesn't seem like something you can do you can also go out to a couple of other sites and just draw one on the screen and then it will give you the resulting ico file. However you do it, it doesn't matter, upload it to the root directory of your webserver and we should be ok. So over here as you can see I've already uploaded mine over here. Now it's not showing up in firefox, the reason is very simple. It's designed to show up on your bookmark list, so I've bookmarked it and down here you can see the custom icon has appeared. Now lets say you want it to show up on all pages, well what you are going to need to do is edit the file. So in this case I'm going to edit my index dot html file. Ok. And you want to put something in the head that links to it so I'm going to put a link relative equals shortcut icon. And tell it where it is. Now if all goes well, next time I reload this page I should have an icon sitting there on my page. I'm Dan Afonso enjoy."
