"Hi I'm Linda Wooldridge and I'm a home school mom. How do you get a workers permit for your child if they are home school? For starters you'll want to check online and find out what the requirements are for your state. In our state, if you want to work as a home schooled student you are perfectly able to do so, provided that you can find an employer who is willing to work with your school schedule. Which would be the same as it would be for any high schooled student. When you apply for the job, you will need to let the employer know what hours you're schooling. If the student were in a traditional public high school, they would have certain school hours that they had to be available and your student should as well. So think about that before you go out and apply for the job. Now, if you know that they have a breakfast shift open and that works for your child then you might want to say that you home school in the afternoons so that your child will be available for those hours. Also, your state may have different rules. You may have to apply through the work system and get a work permit. Or, there may not be any requirements at all. So, check online, find out what the requirements are. Once you know the rules for your state, your student will be able to go and find an employer who is willing to hire a high school student with a work permit and then they can apply for that and make a little extra money on the side. That's all you have to do to have a work permit while you are homeschooling. I'm Linda Wooldridge, have a great home schooling day."
